A museum that reflects history and culture.
DSGW worked with the Boise Forte Band of Ojibwe to establish a budget, develop a program and produce a design that would fit aesthetic and functional needs. The process involved working with a committee comprised of Band members that represented the history and future of the Band.

The museum’s shape was designed to pay homage to the shelters use in the Ojibwe culture. The space was arranged to showcase a variety of exhibits including a fur trading post and Veteran’s wall that pays tribute to Bois Forte Band members who served their country. The inspired interiors demonstrate the importance of natural surroundings by incorporating materials indigenous to the region. Colors reflect natural materials such as stone and clay.
